Creative Critical Reflection: Question 3 - Draft

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

At the beginning of this project I had an idea of what I would like my magazine to look like, but i had no idea how to make it reach that final goal. I neither had the experience with the Adobe InDesign or with taking pictures but I also didn't have a camera that took high quality pictures.

So in order to fix these problems I watched the Adobe InDesign tutorial 5 times and made sure that I new how to use the program like the back of my hand. Before I even began work on my magazine I made a dummy magazine to make sure I knew how to do the things I wanted. As well as making sure I was good with the computer aspect of this project I had to make sure that I would be able to take pictures. In order to do that I had to borrow my friends camera as my phone did not take good enough pictures in my opinion. I would also use my GoPro Hero 3 when I had to take pictures of the boat in the water and all things to where i could potentially drop the camera in the water and damage it. I only had to do that for a little while because i eventually acquired and iPhone 7 which allowed me to take really good pictures.

I learned how to take pictures and the rule of thirds from my teacher and from my friend. Mr. Elsbree showed me the rule of thirds and camera composition but Madison taught me how to adjust the lighting and contrast of the picture as well as camera position to get the best looking picture possible.
